This year marks the 20th annual corn maze at Gearhard Farms, an amazing accomplishment for our family! Even more incredible is the fact that it is also the 250th anniversary for this land being in our family! Starting in 1769, when Robert Hays purchased the 339.5 acres and named his paradise “Mammora” to 2019’s Gearhard Farms; 26 decades are represented! This was the true inspiration for the design. There was one trivia question posted in the corn maze from each decade that challenged our visitors! Additionally, photos of our current farm animals; Mel, the horse, Petey, the peacock, Smokey, the cat, Berit, the dog, a guinea and Toulouse geese, were featured in the maze for our younger guests to discover! Then, the pathways that formed the design depicted the new logo for the farm. We want to say a special thank you to our niece, Tricia Chicka for creating it, by capturing the image of the original barn, the oldest standing structure, still being used in our farming operations!
